About Me

Hello, I’m Clare. I am an experienced and fully accredited CBT therapist, and my aim is to support you to recover from the difficulty you are experiencing, so that you can get back to yourself, who you are and what is important to you.

I have worked in adult mental health since 2014 and have 9 years of private, local authority and NHS experience combined.

I love CBT and have experienced personally and professionally the transformative effect it can have on people’s lives. I aim to create an empathetic warm and supportive environment to help you reach your goals and overcome difficulties.

Yes, I am able to provide treatment to clients who have insurance policies with Aviva and AXA. Please get in touch to discuss this further.

This is completely dependent on your goals for therapy and the difficulty you are struggling with. Following assessment we can discuss the number of sessions you may need, this can also be regularly reviewed and discussed as therapy progresses.

Yes, I understand that finding a therapist that you are comfortable with and feels right for you is really important. The initial consultation gives us a chance to get to know each other and lasts for 20 minutes over zoom. If you would like to book an initial consultation please let me know.

Feelings are much like waves – we can’t stop them from coming but we can choose which ones to surf.

I have had the most incredible inner-self transformation because of the help Clare has given me. The way in which she would listen and discuss the things I was opening up about allowed me to fully immerse myself in this process. I was able to breakdown fully and not feel awkward or uncomfortable in the slightest. In turn this allowed me to embrace the feelings I had about what I was going through and learn to manage the emotions that came with it.Clare has taught me techniques to deal with the most difficult of times and given me a sense of "self" and "normality" back to me from being completely lost.I am forever grateful for the help I have received working with Clare. I could not have asked for a better therapist! Clare really helped the issues which I was faced with and helped me to find strategies to deal with them! Having had 9 sessions with Clare, I would describe her therapy as life changing. I have really enjoyed our sessions together, she has made me feel comfortable and able to speak as much or as little as I want to. I also appreciate Clare's laid-back and flexible style of therapy, on one occasion I felt uncomfortable with a behavioral experiment and so instead we found another way to the same result. Thank you Clare so much!

I had recent therapy with Clare in order to address my "severe OCD." Having worked with Clare over a number of weeks, I can honestly say that Clare was the best therapist I have experienced. I've had therapy for my OCD on multiple occasions and from multiple therapists but I've never made such progress under any other therapist. Clare's style is hugely conducive to achieving positive results. Based on my experience a great therapist is one that provides a bespoke recovery plan whilst also providing therapy at the optimal speed. Clare is extremely easy to build a positive rapport with and seems personally invested in achieving your recovery. Having someone that is so committed to improving your personal situation is extremely important as it provides you with that trust and motivation to succeed. I'm personally proud of the progress that I made but this certainly couldn't have been achieved without the work that Clare did. I couldn't recommend Clare more for anyone that needs support. Clare will make you feel as ease and you can feel confident of making improvements with Clare's support.

I’d been struggling with worry and anxiety for quite some time and it was negatively affecting my life. I’m incredibly glad I decided to reach out for help from Clare.She helped me understand what I was feeling and taught me lots of tools and techniques for managing my anxiety and other strong emotions. I’ve found these to be very effective in helping me deal with feelings of being overwhelmed. She was also a great listener and provided me with a lot of support.I now feel like I’m in a much better situation and more prepared to face day to day challengesI would wholeheartedly recommend Clare to anybody who was considering therapy.

I would highly recommend having CBT with Clare. My anxiety is a lot more manageable now and I also feel a lot more confident in myself.Clare has taught me useful tools to manage my anxiety as well as identifying what causes it.The sessions were well structured with a clear plan.Clare is also a great listener and very empathetic, I always felt like I had space to vent and express my worries and concerns, which really helped me too.Overall there was a good balance of practical tools and emotional support, which really helped me!

This was my first experience with counselling and exploring CBT. Clare was exactly what I needed, her approach is calming and made me feel comfortable during our sessions. Clare was really good at explaining things through, taking time with me when it was needed and offered the support I needed. I have grown and learnt a lot and have many tools to use. I would recommend Clare to anyone seeking help.
